MIRIAM BELMONTE
Miriam Belmonte is a multimedia journalist and documentarian from Carrollton, TX. She loves to tell stories through a lens and capture moments as they unfold.
Throughout her time as a student at The University of Texas at Austin, Miriam worked on multiple projects where she captured the essence of different student bodies and Austin culture. Miriam led interviews, produced, and scriptwrote. She also served as a video reporter for her college newspaper, The Daily Texan.
While working on her projects, Miriam found inspiration from the different heartbeats people lead and fell in love with inserting herself in people's shoes. Immersing herself in different perspectives has fueled her growth, allowing her to tell stories that authentically capture and honor the diverse truths of the people she encounters.
Miriam believes that telling stories through visuals has a powerful impact, and she wants to use that power to its advantage. She thinks everyone has a story to tell, and each one is unique, even those who seem to be navigating a “normal” day-to-day life. She loves to tell someone’s story, whether they’re an athlete, dancer, musician, or a student.
On the side, Miriam enjoys vlogging her days and posts on social media platforms such as TikTok. She wants to inspire people through who she is and the work that she puts out.
